6:48 pm Thu, Oct 29, 2009 - Phoenix AZ!
Hello everyone!,

I am in Phoenix, AZ right now. We woke up at 4:30 our time to make it to our flight to Dallas, TX, then boarded another flight to Phoenix. It was the first time I've ever flown. Before we left though we had to drop Fry off at a pet hotel thing and it broke my heart to say good-bye to him. I miss my kitty-Fry but I know it is better than leaving a pile of food, ton of water, and however we would've done the litter for almost a week.

The first flight was completely dark at the beginning but after we were above the clouds we could see that the first rays of the sun were already touching some of the clouds. As time progressed I could see more of the beautiful fluffs of white below us. I was a bit nervous but I knew we were safe, I'm not sure how but I knew. The statistics are in our favor after all.

We landed in Dallas, TX 9:20 am IN/OH time. We only had an hour layover so we just got breakfast. I had never been in Texas, to my knowledge, in my life. The airport was nice though. We boarded for the second flight shortly after. It was much more rough than the first one. The fasten seat belt sign was on the whole time but the clouds were more fluffy. I also got to see the earth more. I noticed when we were getting ready to land that the sagebrush growing on the Arizona mountains looked like veins in the earth. It has been a long time since I'd seen the desert mountains. They appear differently than in the Midwest since I imagine the rate of erosion is far faster due to lack of trees and such.

After we landed we waited for a little bit for Ravyn and Tiffanie to pick us up. When they pulled up I didn't realize they were right in front of us until Ravyn was about to get out of the car. We drove to the hotel, but were there early so we walked to the nearby mall to eat in the food court. Ravyn was nice enough to cover Joey and I, and it was delicious. We walked back and checked in. We were going to go to their hotel and help put the finishing touches on our "booth" for tomorrow's con but Joey and I were so tired. I fell asleep watching Adult Swim, at 8:30! Both of those facts are a bit shocking. I don't sleep that early, and Adult Swim starts at 10:00 where we live.

The television is throwing me off. I watched the King of Queens, like I do every day at 10:00 instead of 1:00 like usual, and I think it is tricking my brain to think it is later than it is. We ordered Pizza for diner, and this afternoon didn't have paper plates to heat it up in the room's microwave so I tore the box lid up into a heating "tray". Hey, it worked.

Well, tomorrow is the con and this evening if Ravyn and Tiff need our help we are well rested enough to do so. I'm excited to meet everyone this weekend and hope it will be a blast.

See ya'll tomorrow at Saboten Con in the Artist Alley.

9:39 pm Sun, Oct 04, 2009 - Weekend Fun
Hello!

This weekend I went to visit my family to celebrate my birthday since it is tomorrow. I had a really fun weekend, on Saturday we had a party and sooo many people showed up! 14 in total. Then my in-laws took me out to eat with my sister-in-law, her fiance, and brother-in-law. My mother and I worked on my Mira cosplay for the convention. We're almost finished, I finished the scarf I was making for my husband, and patched up a quilt I've used almost every night since I was 14.

Everything was wonderful until we returned home. Apparently during this weekend one of the cabinets in the kitchen fell off the wall. The majority of my glasses and several of the plates my mother bought me broke, there was glass everywhere, and kitty-Fry was running around in it. When we looked at the cabinet the people who installed it did a terrible job, they didn't brace it with anything! They hung the whole thing through the flimsy cardboard-like back instead of any actual wood or structure! We called the landlord and we have to come up with an amount of damage. Ug, so not what I needed...All but one of my favorite set of glasses broke. But my Sailor Moon mug is fine, lol.

Joey found the Halloween decorations too! I decorated my mother's house already. I know it is a bit early but oh well. :)

For my birthday I got The Big Bang Theory seasons 1 and 2! My brother, husband and I spent most of Saturday night (until 2 am) watching season 1. I also got my very first birthday balloon!

2:14 pm Thu, Sep 17, 2009 - Quick Thought

Hello everyone.

I was watching the Colbert Report today (rerun of last night's show) and I saw about the textbook special. One person on the program was angry that terrorists were not identified as Muslim. Why should they be equated? Not all Muslims are terrorists and not all terrorists are Muslim. There are plenty of instances of terrorist activities that had nothing to do with the Muslims; look at East Timur(sp, sorry) and Indonesia for one.

As we're on the topic of education I still don't know why people were so angry about President Obama's speech to the kids. If anyone has a major impact on what a child thinks and does it is going to be their parents. Just because he spoke with them does not mean he said "I talked to you, you owe me, now be a democrat". He was encouraging them to try hard...

One last thought, LOUD does not equal correct.

Well, that's all. :-) Thanks for listing.

8:27 pm Sat, Jul 11, 2009 - Cat...
Holy crap I could just kick my cat (I won't mind you, I love him to pieces). When I came home this 4th weekend I had left my markers safely on the couch in their case and I found that he had gotten to 5 of them. That's roughly $30 worth of art supplies ruined! And unfortunately I needed them for the finishing touches on a project I'm working on for Ravyn.

So today we spent a really long time trying to find a Hobby Lobby that sells replacements and weren't all sold out. The one we found had to hide them behind the counter at the frame department because people kept stealing them. Geez, people. I know they're expensive but come on. That's not going to encourage the Hobby Lobby to keep them as a regular item. But anyway Ravyn's project is finished, I'm going to take pictures and Joey's sending them out either Monday or Tuesday morning.

Well, toodaloo peeps!
