12:29 am Sun, May 23, 2010 - Updates

Hello everyone! I know it has been a while but I plan to update this more. There are two sections that aren't showing up properly but they are called "more artists" and "reviews/impressions". They're both pretty self explanatory.

Eventually I'll post pictures of my new office in our new house for everyone to see, but it is taking a while for me to get everything how I want it. I'm close though! I plan to post some "behind the scenes" things with pictures of projects I'm working on and some how to tidbits.

Well that's all for now, figured I'd keep y'all posted.

3:24 pm Sun, Mar 14, 2010 - Wow, just...goodness!
Hello everyone,

Been a while! In two weeks our new house will be complete. Once we move I'm going to look into being a substitute teacher for the local school district. I need more "teaching experience" on my resume if I'm going to be able to get into a teaching accreditation program. I've also decided that I'm going to try to get into graduate school! I could do both at the same time with one particular school that I want to attend.

I've been trying to do some images for my 2nd cousin Caitlyn, and for Ravyn but my ink for several of my "use all the flippin' time" Copics is out so I have to order those. I was thinking that I would wait for it though and try to use more different colors than usual so I can get the inks in the mail at our new house.

The spring is usually pretty crazy for Joey and I since there are at least seven birthdays right in a row so we try to come up every once in a while to celebrate. This month has my niece, friend Allen, Dad and Sister turning one year older. To celebrate I visited my parents the last two weekends so I didn't get to do my Shadowrun group on either Sunday but I did get to see my family.

Yesterday we bought new nerf guns and had a fight with my mom, Allen, brother Bryan and my husband. I love that my parents get into our games like that. They're both in their 60s and still have so much fun.

I think I'm going to start posting things in Japanese so I don't lose what I've learned. It will be good practice. They'll basically be translations of the things that I update.

One last thing in my disorganized post: I will be updating the look of the site withing the next month or so. It is pretty easy, the layout will probably be the same but the header and colors are going to be different. Does anyone have any suggestions for a color scheme? Please post your thoughts.

That's all for now, talk to ya later.

12:27 pm Wed, Dec 30, 2009 - New connections
Hello everyone!

There is a new section being created for referral artists. I've got to make a new button for it and I'm waiting for permission from one of the artists. They are doing commissions very openly right now and would definitely be worth looking up.

The other link is from someone I met at Saboten Con. It has been a while but things have been hectic at home, I'll post about that later, but he has a MySpace page to visit. He's a nice guy too. He works on macabre themed images and such so be warned: Might not be for the kiddies.

You can click on the page, the empty space on the left, but it is not entirely ready yet.

Well, toodles everyone!

3:52 pm Sun, Dec 06, 2009 - Commissions now closed.

Commissions are now closed since the major holiday season is here. I don't have my laptop either so my files aren't progressing either. Sigh...

Toodles!

2:31 am Sat, Oct 31, 2009 - Welcome Saboten Guests!

More of my work can be seen at Deviant Art!

I met many interesting people this past weekend and did artwork for them. I did break my rule of not doing fan-art for this special occasion but it is not routine. I hope you all had a great time and I will post a special little comic about this past week and convention. I do have a funny and painful anecdote for you all but I'll save it until then.

Edit 2 After the Con I will accept commissions for a short time only. If you would like to order shoes or anything please contact me at allysonboeckman@yahoo.com. Due to the fact that I work on 3 mangas simultaneously and must divide what time I have between them I am generally not available but for Saboten guests I will make an exception. If you do order, please have them in before Thanks Giving so it will be ready before Christmas. I will mail the order to you or what ever address you would like to give.

Thank you all for your support and all of the wonderful conversations we had. You helped to make this convention such a joy. If you are a member of deviant art or have your own website I have some good news too. I am looking for referral artists. If you are available for commissions and projects please let me know and I will put up a link on my website to your page!

ありがとう ございます!

6:48 pm Thu, Oct 29, 2009 - Phoenix AZ!
Hello everyone!,

I am in Phoenix, AZ right now. We woke up at 4:30 our time to make it to our flight to Dallas, TX, then boarded another flight to Phoenix. It was the first time I've ever flown. Before we left though we had to drop Fry off at a pet hotel thing and it broke my heart to say good-bye to him. I miss my kitty-Fry but I know it is better than leaving a pile of food, ton of water, and however we would've done the litter for almost a week.

The first flight was completely dark at the beginning but after we were above the clouds we could see that the first rays of the sun were already touching some of the clouds. As time progressed I could see more of the beautiful fluffs of white below us. I was a bit nervous but I knew we were safe, I'm not sure how but I knew. The statistics are in our favor after all.

We landed in Dallas, TX 9:20 am IN/OH time. We only had an hour layover so we just got breakfast. I had never been in Texas, to my knowledge, in my life. The airport was nice though. We boarded for the second flight shortly after. It was much more rough than the first one. The fasten seat belt sign was on the whole time but the clouds were more fluffy. I also got to see the earth more. I noticed when we were getting ready to land that the sagebrush growing on the Arizona mountains looked like veins in the earth. It has been a long time since I'd seen the desert mountains. They appear differently than in the Midwest since I imagine the rate of erosion is far faster due to lack of trees and such.

After we landed we waited for a little bit for Ravyn and Tiffanie to pick us up. When they pulled up I didn't realize they were right in front of us until Ravyn was about to get out of the car. We drove to the hotel, but were there early so we walked to the nearby mall to eat in the food court. Ravyn was nice enough to cover Joey and I, and it was delicious. We walked back and checked in. We were going to go to their hotel and help put the finishing touches on our "booth" for tomorrow's con but Joey and I were so tired. I fell asleep watching Adult Swim, at 8:30! Both of those facts are a bit shocking. I don't sleep that early, and Adult Swim starts at 10:00 where we live.

The television is throwing me off. I watched the King of Queens, like I do every day at 10:00 instead of 1:00 like usual, and I think it is tricking my brain to think it is later than it is. We ordered Pizza for diner, and this afternoon didn't have paper plates to heat it up in the room's microwave so I tore the box lid up into a heating "tray". Hey, it worked.

Well, tomorrow is the con and this evening if Ravyn and Tiff need our help we are well rested enough to do so. I'm excited to meet everyone this weekend and hope it will be a blast.

See ya'll tomorrow at Saboten Con in the Artist Alley.

-Ally B.
